My passion is creative progression.

Can you kill a tick? Yes.

I just killed my 1000th tick (lifetime number). It just boggles my mind that people think that you can’t kill these little buggers. I just wanted to write a blog post about killing ticks and directly confront the ignorance of the common belief that you can’t kill ticks.

5 easy ways to kill ticks:

1. Squish the tick between your fingers: This is really only if they have blood in them. But they will pop.

2. Cut the tick in half: Fingernails, scissors, razorblades. Be inventive.

3. Burn them: Stick the tick with a tack and then just burn the little sucker.

4. Squish the tick between two hard things: Best and probably the most common circumstance for this murder - Coffee cup and desk. Two rocks work, too.

5. I can’t think of a fifth way to kill ticks. Flushing them doesn’t count; it’s not direct enough. Flicking them out the window definitely doesn’t count. And if you have ever tried to suffocate them with vasoline. Think again. That is just a joke to get your fingers slippery, ultimately lose the tick, and curse the other blog post you just read.

Good luck…we are all counting on you.

They’re a few years old now, but I’ve always loved these minimalist ads for Hot Wheels (they’re the little toy cars similar to the ones made by Matchbox). The household props do a great job of making us imagine the play scene that just took place.

Ad junkies will recognize Tim Piper and Mike Kirkland as the team that was also responsible for the Dove Evolution video, which took YouTube (and Cannes) by storm.
